EduRisk is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of student data. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard information within our academic research project.

As an academic research project, we collect the following types of data:

• Academic records (grades, attendance, course history)
• IoT sensor data (RFID attendance logs, lab access times)
• Demographic information (age, department, year of study)
• System usage data (dashboard interactions, alerts)

All data is anonymized before processing. No personally identifiable information is stored in the ML models.

How We Use Your Information

Your data is used exclusively for:

• Training and improving machine learning models for risk prediction
• Generating anonymized academic insights and trends
• Providing risk alerts and recommendations to faculty
• Academic research and publication (aggregate data only)

Data Protection Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures:

• 256-bit encryption for data at rest and in transit
• Strict access controls with role-based permissions
• Regular security audits and penetration testing
• Anonymization before any external sharing
• Secure data deletion protocols after project completion

Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Limited access is granted to:

• Project team members (anonymized data only)
• Faculty advisors and project guides
• Institutional ethics committee for review
• Research collaborators (aggregate, non-identifiable data)

Data Retention

Student data is retained only for the duration of the research project (academic year 2024-2026). After project completion, all identifiable data will be securely deleted. Anonymized aggregate data may be retained for research publications.

Your Rights

As a participant in this research project, you have the right to:

• Request access to your stored data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data (withdraw from study)
• Opt-out of data collection at any time
