Terms of use for EduRisk platform

1Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using EduRisk, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to all terms, please do not use the platform. EduRisk is an academic research project and is provided for educational purposes only.

2Academic Research Purpose

EduRisk is developed as a final year engineering project for academic research purposes. The system is a prototype and is not intended for commercial use or as a substitute for official academic evaluation. The primary purpose is to demonstrate the application of machine learning in student risk monitoring.

3User Eligibility

Access to EduRisk is limited to:

  • Students, faculty, and staff of MIT College of Engineering
  • Project team members and advisors
  • Authorized researchers collaborating on the project
  • Reviewers and evaluators of the final year project

4Acceptable Use

Users agree to use EduRisk responsibly and for its intended academic purpose. Prohibited activities include:

  • Attempting to access unauthorized data
  • Using the system for commercial purposes
  • Sharing login credentials or bypassing access controls
  • Misrepresenting system outputs as official academic decisions
  • Attempting to reverse engineer or exploit system vulnerabilities

5Intellectual Property

All content, code, designs, and materials on EduRisk are the intellectual property of the project team and MIT College of Engineering, unless otherwise noted. Users may not reproduce, distribute, or modify any part of the system without explicit permission.

6Data Usage

Data collected through EduRisk is used solely for academic research and risk prediction. By using the platform, you consent to:

  • Collection of academic and IoT data as described in the Privacy Policy
  • Processing of data by machine learning models
  • Storage of anonymized data for research purposes

7Disclaimer of Warranties

EduRisk is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. We do not guarantee:

  • That the system will be error-free or uninterrupted
  • The accuracy or completeness of predictions
  • That the system will meet specific user requirements

8Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EduRisk and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of or inability to use the platform. This includes any decisions made based on system outputs.

9Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. Users will be notified of significant changes via email or platform announcement.

10Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to EduRisk for any user who violates these terms or for administrative purposes related to the academic project timeline.

11Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Pune, Maharashtra.
